Tip:

Early spay or neuter. It is not unusual for puppies and kittens to now be spayed or neutered by 8-10 weeks of age. If you adopt a new pet at the shelter and/or your veterinarian now recommends this be done, don't be surprised. Actually, you should be impressed that they are on the "cutting edge" of veterinary medicine. In another five years or so, early spay/neuter (called pre-pubescent because it is before puberty) will most likely be the norm.
